Teaching Assistant (2 positions)

The
appointees will be required to take tutorial classes, mark assignments
and examination papers of economics courses offered on-campus, and by
distance and flexible learning mode. The appointees must be willing to
travel to USP campuses outside Suva to take tutorials and assist in all
aspects of the distance and flexible mode of teaching for short and
long durations. Appointees are expected to engage in research and
consultancy, workshops and other School wide activities. Appointees
will be also expected to facilitate the Economics Students Society.
Applicants must be citizens of one of the USP member countries;
have a good bachelor`s degree and preferably Postgraduate qualification
in Economics; and have relevant experience in teaching economics at
tertiary level.
Preference will be given to applicants with a background in
macroeconomics, microeconomics, econometrics; experience in distance
and flexible learning and demonstration of some research and
publications activities. Applicants are also expected to enroll in PhD
in economics through the School of Economics. |

The position is available for a term of three years and may be renewed by mutual agreement. |

F$23,884 to F$29,032 per annum |

In
addition to the salary benefits, the University contributes 8% of
salary to an approved superannuation scheme, provides airfare and
