Senior Technician in Chemistry

The
appointee will supervise the daily operation of the chemistry
laboratories and stores. Duties will include the supervision and daily
operation of the chemistry laboratories, stores and related facilities
and the provision of specialist technical support for teaching and
research. The appointee will also be expected to assign specific duties
to the laboratory technicians and to monitor occupational health and
safety standards within the laboratories and stores.
Applicants must have at least a Diploma or equivalent in Laboratory
Technology and a minimum of five years relevant laboratory experience;
supervisory experience and experience with Occupational Health and
Safety and hazardous materials management; good interpersonal and
communication skills (both written and oral); be computer literate; and
the ability to maintain laboratory apparatus.
Preference will be given to applicants with experience in a similar
role in a tertiary institution; have certificates in Occupational
Health and Safety and a current driver's license. Experience in working
in developing countries would be an advantage. |

The position is available for a term of three years and may be renewed by mutual agreement. |

F$44 721 to F$53 665 per annum |

(Inclusive of 15% Gratuity) |
