Reporting to the General Manager, the Manager New Ventures is responsible for developing a structured means of assessing new business opportunities and risks for the TFL Group, identifying those opportunities that should be pursued to strengthen TFL’s competitive position, and implementing plans to develop and integrate approved ventures into the business. The role requires the capability to think and view initiatives holistically and manage the New Ventures Pipeline from concept to integration within the business, including the dissemination of key learnings within the business and the development of talent within the unit.

You are expected to:

• Research business opportunities that increase the utilization of the TFL Groups assets and to proactively search out new business opportunities that strengthen our competitiveness.

• Canvass opportunities to target customers to secure their buy-in including preparing business case and business model options.

• Validate business ideas and models through proof- of-concept and/or market trials.

• Develop project plans and project manage approved new business project implementations within scope, budget and timelines.

• Develop templates and update the New Venture Development Process to ensure that TFL leads the market in new venture innovation.

• Initiate and implement at least one business improvement initiative per quarter that improves efficiency, productivity, revenue or image building as well as one business improvement activity that reduces costs".


You must have tertiary and specialised qualifications that equip you with the foundational skills required for the role you are interested in. It is essential that you have a minimum of three years of practical and productive experience working in a similar role. Knowledge of the Internet, Telco or Managed IT Service industry would be a significant advantage.
