Building Surveyor - Nasinu Town Council

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the position of Building Surveyor

Duties:

Responsible to Manager Engineering for the following tasks:

·      Day to day management of the Building section;

·      Ensure implementation and compliance with Building Code in Fiji, Town planning Act and Subdivision  of Land Act;

·      Develop and maintain a program of inspections of new developments to ensure that all requirements are met;

·      Inspect and prepare report for issuance of Building Completion Certificates:

·      Manage receipt and verifications of building and other plans and liaise closely with the office of the Director Town and Country Planning for application and approvals;

.     Liaise with all departments of the Council to ensure services provided to rate payers and residents meet the highest building standards;

·      Assist in the preparation and implementation of a Town Planning Scheme for Nasinu;

·      Any other duties that may be assigned

Qualifications:

·      Diploma in Building and Civil Engineering/Land Use Planning or high level qualification in Engineering /Town Planning;

·      Have a t least 5 years experience in a similar role or proven experience in building survey/inspection with high degree of initiative and independence

·      Additional expertise in civil engineering;

·      Applicants must be conversant with the Local Government, Town Planning, Sub Division of Land and Business Licensing Acts and other relevant legislation;

·      Applicant must also posses sound knowledge and experience in building construction;

·      A valid Group 2 driving license is essential.

Salary: $15, 5000 - $18, 5000 depending on qualification and experience.
